When That Might Be
Sometimes its clear how things should be, be
at other times the world just laughs at me, me
once you’re in you cant get out,
don’t know what its all about
this life, this life it confuses me, me
The days are long and the nights are cold
things’ll get better so I’m told
just wonderin when that might be
Find out who your friends when you are
down down, down down
1 or 2 will be there for you, the rest cant be found
look for ways to kill the pain,
sun never shines it always rains
find out who your friends are when you are
down down, down down
No silver lining no pot of gold
things’ll get better so I’m told
just wonderin when that might be
when that might be
Sometimes its clear how things should be
at other times the world just laughs at me
laughs at me, laughs at me
when that might be
when that might be
when that might be
Things’ll get better so I’m told
just wonderin when that might be
when that might be
Sometimes its clear how things should be
at other times the world just laughs at me
laughs at me, laughs at me
when that might be
when that might be
when that might be

To Be Free
Things are lookin hazy
thru the bottom of this glass
Not much of a future,
just flashbacks from the past
See I’m gettin older
and my best days are done
Think I’ll jump on my horse and ride
into the setting sun
I’m finally comin home
wherever that might be
Gonna let myself roam
and live my life to be free
Been to the top of a mountain
to the depths of despair
Flipped a coin in the fountain
and the ones who should don’t care
See I ‘m growing tired
it’s time to live my life for me
today’s the day I’m gonna break these chains,
I’ve got to be free
I’m finally coming home
wherever that might be
gonna let myself roam and live my life to be free,
free, to be free, free to be free
Things are lookin hazy
thru the bottom of this glass
Not much of a future
just flashbacks from the past
I’m finally comin home
wherever that might be
Gonna let myself roam
and live my life to be free
I’m finally comin home
wherever that might be
Gonna let myself roam
and live my life to be free
Live my life to be free
You know I’ve got to be free
Its time for me to be…

In The End

I know what you’re thinking
behind that mask you wear
wonder if its worth it
and you think that no one cares
some of us take longer
it only makes us stronger in the end
Its always been that way
guess that sometimes you must pay, your dues
life aint always fair and you don’t care
what you got to lose
The one you never had
the one that got away
The one that never leave
the one that never stay
got what you deserved
messed up along the way
(Chorus)
Either lead or follow
get out of the way
don’t know about tomorrow
don’t know about today
put your cards up on the table
see if you are able to get it right, yea
(repeat first verse)
It makes you stronger in the end

Little Brother
Little brother
wish i got to know you
you’d have been a friend of mine
Sooner or later the reaper gets us all
he came for you before your time
Should have been a hell of a man
your future to see
No way I’ll ever understand,
cant shake this feeling that it should’ve been me
You were only 6 years old, only 6 years old
Never hurt a soul, never hurt a soul
Wish i told you so, sorry little bro
Never had the chance for your first kiss
no chance to taste sweet wine
No way for you to know what you had missed
took for granted there’d be time
Should have been a hell of a man, your future to see
No way I’ll ever understand,
cant shake this feeling that should’ve been me
You were only 6 years old, only 6 years old
Never hurt a soul, never hurt a soul
Wish i told you so, sorry little bro
So here’s to you
hope you’re out there somewhere
and you’re hearin what i say
Maybe we’ll go fishin
or watch a football game
when we meet again someday
I’ll never understand it
“repeat 1st verse”
Way to soon
Way to soon
Little brother, wish i got to know you
You’d have been a friend of mine.

Killer
When i was a young man
there was no match around
take on any body
any time or any town
one day i met a stranger
with murder in his eyes
he tried to take the first shot
so i made that stranger die
I am a killer, my gun’s for hire
don’t think about it, just fire
Don’t know who my contacts be
whats more don’t give a damn
you think that it would bother me
but that’s just the way I am
I am a killer, my gun’s for hire
don’t think about it, just fire
Not the way that i planned it, not the way it should be
fate’s taken over, look at what it’s done to me
no rest for the wicked, always on the run
dug my own grave and it cant be undone
Now I’m laying in this box, people stop and stare
damn few that I even knew and less that even cared
Not the way that i planned it, not the way it should be
fate’s taken over, look at what it’s done to me
no rest for the wicked, always on the run
dug my own grave and it cant be undone
I am a killer, my gun’s for hire
don’t think about it, just fire
Once was a young man,
Now I’m a dead man in a box.

Clingin
Every day’s trials and tribulations,
are slowly getting me down
I’m tired of hearin useless information,
thinkin of going underground
Like I’m clingin to a branch,
Like I’m clingin to a branch
Comin out the side of a mountain
I know that things are tough all over,
the sun don’t shine on me
might crash and burn tryin to make it,
nothing in this life comes for free
Like I’m clingin to a branch,
Like I’m clingin to a branch
Comin out the side of a mountain
Sometimes it goes away, for a little while
precious moments when i get to smile
switch goes off, I’m back to where i started
It’s like lookin down the throat of the monster
and you can hardly breathe…
Everything i see, it’s in slow motion,
it’s hard to keep the hounds at bay
wish that they would make a magic potion,
make this feeling go away
Like I’m clingin to a branch,
Like I’m clingin to a branch
Comin out the side of a mountain

To Be or Not To Be
In days of old, the story’s told
about the knight in shining armor
who saved the princess from the evil man
They took each others hand,
headed off to a foreign land
to hell with king and queen and state you see
They were finding out what it was, to be or not to be
They rode royal horses to a place unknown
slept under stars in a field of stone
she his woman, he her first man
they were learning what it was to be
Or not to be, that’s the question
I’m not sure what it means
So they’d fight, for their freedom,
the dreamer and his dream
it was right, you should have seen them,
back to back under moon light
To be or not’s the question
I’m not sure what it means
they could not go back,
even if they wanted
to the way it used to be
It didn’t take long he tired of it
the princess got all starry eyed for him
late one night while she peacefully slept
he made his get away, hyaw…
In days of old the story’s told about the knight in shining armor
the psycho princess tracked him down somehow
took him back to the king,
made him wear a wedding ring
would not be scorned by the likes of he
And this is how the story goes,
to be or not to be… that’s the question
And this is how the story goes,
to be or not to be… that’s the question
And this is how the story goes,
to be or not to be

Jeopardy
Thought that i was as free as the sun,
just stuck around i didn’t think to run
woke up this mornin with a cloud over my head,
for some unknown reason didn’t want to rise from bed
Just felt like one of those days, you know what i mean
Sent my butler down to fire up the car,
the poor old butler didn’t make it very far
heard an explosion so I ran to the back,
there wasn’t nothin left of my big old Cadillac
I’m in jeopardy
in jeopardy
I’m in jeopardy
and they’re closing in for the kill
Out to the beach I ran like a streak,
I was getting nervous I was starting to freak
off to left something caught my eye,
had to hit the dirt if I didn’t want to die
Crawled on my belly to the back of a shack,
the killer waited for a blind side attack
ran to the ocean made myself dive in,
the killer waited the tide would let him win
I’m in jeopardy
in jeopardy
I’m in jeopardy
and they’re closing in for the kill
The killer said…
come on out here boy,
come and get your due
i haven’t got much time
and neither do you.
ha ha ha ha ha ha

Why
I’m out here, out on the streets,
I’m tryin to find, tryin to meet
that old man that left us high and dry
Mamma did the best that she could
just never quite understood
went to her grave askin the question why
Why’d you leave her man, all broken up
all you left us was a pickup truck
i was a small boy, who could barely walk
Why oh why,
did you think you had to run away
tried and tried,
never will forgive you
for what you put me through
Felt funny growin up as a kid
tried to shake it, tried to get rid
of the feeling that something wasn’t right
Other kids had a man and his spouse
2 cars and a big old house
and a future that was lookin bright
Why’d you leave her man all broken up
all you left us was a pickup truck
i was a small boy, who could barely walk
Why oh why,
did you think you had to run away
tried and tried,
never will forgive you
it’s something i can’t do
As i got older, never got over you
I never got over you… hmm
Old man sittin out on the street
he has to beg so he can eat
asked himself the question a thousand times
his candle’s burned, it’s just about used
he lost himself in a bottle of booze
never could bring himself to say good bye
Why oh why
did you think you had to run away
tried and tried
never will forgive you for what you put me through
Oh what you put me through…
What you put me through

Pick Your Poison
My old friend the guitar man,
should have heard him play
as long as 6 strings were in his hand
never lost his way
But we all get lost from time to time,
don’t know where its at
my old friend the guitar man,
he ain’t never comin back
No such thing as a happy ending
no such thing as to good to be true
life’s what you make of it
don’t let em tell you what to do
pick your poison, any one will due
Some people smoke and others drink,
for some it’s coke or just the way they think
whiskey and women make you sin
and still you do it again
You think by now they all should know
there’s not much i do right
and i’m gettin to damn old to put up much of a fight
No such thing as a happy ending
no such thing as to good to be true
life’s what you make of it
don’t let em tell you what to do
pick your poison, any one will due
(This one’s for you Rob)
My old friend the guitar man,
should have heard him play
as long as 6 strings were in his hand
never lost his way
But we all get lost from time to time,
don’t know where its at
my old friend the guitar man,
he ain’t never comin back
No such thing as a happy ending
no such thing as to good to be true
life’s what you make of it
don’t let em tell you what to do
Pick your poison – any one will do
You don’t have to if you don’t want to
Oh… you don’t have to no no
Pick your poison – the choice is up to you

Out On The Plains
Once upon a time I had vision
saw her walkin out on the plains
she was soaking up a little sunshine
I rode up and asked her name
She said it’s warm with you here beside me
some reason, feels like your lookin inside me
I’ll be good to you, weather sun or rain
if you stay with me here, out on the plains
It’s hard for me to imagine,
what life would be like without you
it’s been a long time with cold hard winters
the wind howls out on the plains
It’s always warm with you here beside me
even when you’re not, you know you’re inside me
after all this time, not much has changed
you’re still the same girl I met out on the plains
